In 2008 during economic downtimes, Berkley Public Safety needed a way to fund special events in the community. The idea to start our own Golf Outing took shape, and we hosted our first Event at Rackham Golf Course in Huntington Woods, MI.
We are now in our 14th year, and have helped provide almost 5500 FREE Bicycle Helmets during our "Lids 4 Kids" event in June, and thousands of kids with Fire Safety Tips and Techniques during our Fire Open House. The Golf outing has also helped support our Police / Fire Reserve Unit, Public Safety Honor Guard and Berkley "427" Hotrod Muscle car. We are welcoming in the K-9 Program to help continue with funds for BEARl.
